Jon Stewart could easily be described as the unsung hero of Open Door. He intersperses his time painting by giving compliments to all those working around him. When Jon tells a person they are “Awesome,” they truly feel awesome.
Jon’s kind and patient spirit show through in his meticulous and often geometric paintings. He is very inspired by historical paintings but is just as likely to paint people in his life. He tends to use small paintbrushes and carefully fills in rectangular areas with color. These angular sceneries are occasionally occupied by houses or people but can stand alone as abstract color fields. Jon “loves art” and his sole ambition as an artist is to “just be me.”
Jon has been making art since his high school days at West Central. He is very close with his family and adores dogs. He also happily follows the basketball teams of Ohio State and Kentucky. These teams are lucky to count Jon among their fans. He is one of the most positive and loyal of fans imaginable.
