John “JD” Hirst is an illustrator who writes comics as his primary form of expression. His creation, Big Hero 101, is the tale of a great hero, Ace, who unites with alien creatures of all different races and breeds to fight against an evil darkness that is plaguing the galaxy. JD combines elements of anime, classic American superhero legends, Greek mythology and biblical references to tell a story of acceptance. He uses graphite on paper to make an entire universe of good, evil and the forces that unite them.
