“I never dreamed art would take me this far! I’ve been making art since the fourth grade and am still going! It’s a stress relief, and I just love it!” That is Candi Sykes’s response when asked why she creates. A Columbus native, Candi comes from a large family. She has seven siblings and eight nieces and nephews. In her spare time, Candi enjoys reading and writing poetry and roller skating. When asked of her art aspirations, Candi responded with only contentment – “I just really like the role that art plays in my life right now!”
