7.12 Carbon Monoxide Emergency Response–Derrer Road

Carbon Monoxide detector is installed in the laundry room.  The detector will have three alarms that may sound:

  • Low Battery Warning:

The detector’s alarm “chirps” once a minute.  If this happens, call the maintenance on-call.  If you do not receive a call-back, contact the Incident Reporting Staff on-call.

  • Early Warning:

The detector’s alarm sounds for 3-5 seconds every 5 minutes.  If this happens, call the maintenance on-call.  If you do not receive a call-back, contact the Incident Reporting Staff on-call.

  • Full Alarm:

The detector’s alarm sounds one long continuous alarm.  You will need to do the following:

  • Evacuate to Back Parking Lot
    • Call the maintenance department and the Incident Hotline on-call.
    • Take a head count to ensure that all individuals have evacuated.
    • Follow instructions of hotline and maintenance.
    • Wait until the maintenance department/designee gives the “all clear” before returning to the home.
