7.12 Carbon Monoxide Emergency Response – Derrer Road
A carbon Monoxide detector is installed in the home. The detector will have three alarms that may sound:
- Low Battery Warning:
- The detector’s alarm “chirps” once a minute. If this happens, call the maintenance on-call. If you do not receive a callback, contact the Incident Hotline.
- Early Warning:
- The detector’s alarm sounds for 3-5 seconds every 5 minutes. If this happens, call the maintenance on-call. If you do not receive a callback, contact the Incident Hotline.
- Full Alarm:
- The detector’s alarm sounds one long continuous alarm. You will need to do the following:
- Evacuate to the back Parking Lot
- Call the maintenance department and the Incident Hotline.
- Take a head count to ensure that all individuals/staff have evacuated.
- Follow instructions of the Incident Hotline and maintenance.
- Wait until the maintenance department/designee gives the “all clear” before returning to the home.
- The detector’s alarm sounds one long continuous alarm. You will need to do the following:
