We’re excited to share that the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD) has produced a special video series to honor the exceptional work of Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) and the profound impact they have on those they support. These videos not only highlight the crucial role DSPs play every day but also aim to inspire others to explore this rewarding and meaningful career.
We were honored to take part in this project, highlighting the dedication of our DSPs who work tirelessly to Inspire Life Journeys each day. The DODD team began their visit with a tour of our Career, Activity, and Community (CAC) area, where they captured Open Door Stage and Screen (ODSS) in action during a script read-through. They also conducted thougtful interviews with ODSS actors Evan Koloski and Jordan Wilson, as well as Creative Director Cary Johnston and Theatrical Coordinator Aaron Mendoza, who shared insights into their program and the compassionate care that is provided for the actors.
Following the ODSS segment, DODD continued their visit at the Open Door Art Studio & Gallery (ODAS), where they conducted more interviews and toured the facility. They spoke with artist Mark Henderson, ODAS Program Director Claire Smith, and Creative Coordinator Alex Weyls, gaining a deeper understanding of the creative environment and the impactful work happening at ODAS.
We can’t wait for you to watch these videos (below) and join us in celebrating the incredible DSPs who make a significant difference in our organization and in the lives of the individuals we serve every day.
